Solution Architect – Cloud (Financial Services)

Position Overview:
A leading top tier financial services institution has an exciting new opportunity available for an experienced Solution Architect – Cloud in their Business Solutions and Technology Department.
The main purpose of this position is to develop and implement the architectural design of cloud-based solutions to support business goals and to ensure alignment of Business and Information Technology (IT) at a solution level within the organisation.
Key Performance Areas:
- Develop Solution Architectures for different projects.
- Combine various domain (business, data, application, and technology) architectural as-is (baseline) and to-be (target) models.
- Collaborate with the Lead Solution Architect and ensure alignment between the enterprise architecture, solution architecture, architecture principles.
- Ensure that the solutions implemented match the architectural designs (quality control).
- Contribute to the development of evaluation criteria for product evaluations, requests for information (RFIs) and requests for a proposal (RFPs).
- Assist the Lead Solution Architect in evaluating products and partners based on evaluation criteria.
- Contribute to advancing ICT standards and the optimisation of the ICT facilities in the group.
To be considered for this position, one must have:
- Bachelor of Commerce degree in Informatics, a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or Engineering as well as industry-specific qualifications.
- Minimum of 6–8 years’ experience in Application Analysis, Architecture, Design, Enterprise Architecture and/or Solution Architecture.
- Post-graduate qualification in the relevant field will be preferred.
- Knowledge of ‘infrastructure as a service’ and ‘platform as a service’ models.
- Knowledge of use of Architecture frameworks and methods – Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) and Application Data Management (ADM).
- Architecture notations knowledge and skill, such as ArchiMate 3, unified modelling language (UML) and business process model and notations (BPMN).
- The population of architecture repository knowledge and skill.
- Continuous improvement knowledge and skill.
- Knowledge of building blocks and architecture principles design.
- Architecture tools knowledge and skill.
- Solution modelling and benefits analysis knowledge and skill.
